Ph.D. in Economics (1993) at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD). Aggregation in Economics/Economic Theory and Quantitative Methods at UTAD (2001). Full Professor (since 2002) in the same university in areas related with Microeconomics, Econometrics, Industrial Organization and Agricultural Economics. Researcher at the Centre for Transdisciplinary Studies (CETRAD/UTAD). In the research field, the field of wine economics has deserved special attention, including the publication of a large number of papers in international referred journals. Scientific coordinator of the study: A Strategic Orientation of the Porto and Douro Wine Sector (2018). Coordinator of the research line Wine Competitiveness in the project Innovine & Wine, under way at UTAD.
